Projektbeschreibung

My client is currently recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Looked After Children Team based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

This locum post is due to run for approximately 4-6 months, and will pay in the region of £28-£32 per hour (limited company rate).

To work in this Looked After Children team you will require a good working knowledge of the below:
* Every Child Matters
* Care Matters: Time for change
* Working Together to safeguard children
* Children Act 2004

For children with a permanency care plan and placed with long-term foster carers the Looked After Children team will explore application for Special Guardianship Orders (SGO). Cases in these teams will be long-term Looked After Children who are children and young people looked after as part of a care plan and after proceedings work is completed. This includes children whose long-term care plan is permanency. You will need to use judgement and authority to intervene with individuals, families and communities to promote independence, provide support and prevent harm, neglect and abuse.

Key Skills required:

- Effective networking and conflict resolution skills
- Effective written communication and report writing skills
- Skilled at managing own time, and prioritising and managing caseloads
- Experience in assessing the needs of, and undertaking direct work with, children and young people
- Working with parents, families, carers and networks to achieve optimal outcomes for children and young people Able to develop and maintain, and work collaboratively with, a network of internal and external colleagues

In order for you to be considered, you must:

- be a fully Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW etc)
- have a MINIMUM of 2 years experience working for a local authority Children's Services department
- have a CRB/DBS dated no older than 1 year
- be able to interview for this post within the next 7 days
- be able (if successful) to start in this post within the next 2 weeks
