QC Microbiologist

A pharmaceuticals company are recruiting for a contract QC Microbiologist within the Quality Control Department. This is an urgent role to start immediately, therefore ideal candidates will be immediately available.

Main duties will be to:

Execute standard microbiological methods to characterise cell banks.
Review environmental monitoring (EM), water and other utility testing data to ensure the ongoing status of clean rooms and equipment.
Support the Site Microbiologist in investigation of environmental excursions or other deficiencies promptly in accordance with standard procedures.
Support the Site Microbiologist in review and compilation of ongoing environmental trending of the GMP facility.
Assist in the qualification of new test methods and cleaning regimes as required.
Plan own work schedule within the guidelines set by supervisor.
Perform testing and release of equipment for GMP activities.
Ensure that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with the requirements of HSE and GMPs.

The ideal applicant will have a degree in a scientific related subject, ideally Microbiology, and have knowledge and experience of a wide range of microbiological techniques.

He/she should be able to demonstrate strong practical and written skills, and be prepared to work flexibly to support GMP contract needs.
