QA Tester

Client will be creating a new internal web application for handling move orders. The application will be used by the Customer Care Center and will be written using open source tools such as Java, jBoss, Hibernate, web services, HTML, CSS, etc. Development will be done using agile methodology. Client is looking for a person to fill a combined role in the project team. In the Business Analyst role, the candidate would meet with the business clients to capture and document requirements. In the QA role, the candidate would write and run test scripts to ensure the delivered application is meeting defined business requirements. This role will work in coordination with another BA/QA team member to cover the project needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Meet with Product Owner and Care Center training staff to define and document the process.
- Define requirements in multiple dimensions, including functional, performance, and usability.
- Works with Product Owner and Technical Lead to prioritize deliverables and negotiate on product functionalities.
- Identify interfaces with other departments and document related requirements.
- Act as a subject matter expert on product development team, working with the team to document functional requirements and break them down into clearer user stories for the team to deliver.
- Define project acceptance criteria and ensure they are met.
- Assist with product training by writing reference material for the new application.
- Provide guidance regarding methodology and tools for tracking requirements in an agile project.
- Create test plans and map them to the requirements.
- Run test plans and document results and defects.
- Provide guidance regarding methodology and tools for tracking defects in an agile project.
- Provide guidance for regression testing completed application development.

SKILLS

Requirements: Bachelor degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics. 3-5 years of experience in all listed responsibilities. Knowledge of Jira, Redmine or other project and defect tracking tools. Knowledge of project methodologies such as Agile and SDLC. Quick learner of technology solutions and business operations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills. MS Office (4+ years). Knowledge of Enterprise Architect would be beneficial. Knowledge of testing automation frameworks such as Selenium would be beneficial.
