QA Manager

2 month contract role to work within a Central Government organisation based in Leeds.

The key deliverable for this role is to provide Quality Assurance Management for the IT Development team. The IT Development team deliver and maintain services using a number of different processes across several functions including release management, deployment, environment management, data quality, testing, and application support. Each of these processes and functions require governance, attention to best practice and quality assurance.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

- Introduce the IT development team to ISO-9000 standards of quality
- Quality Assurance process management and continuous improvement initiatives across the IT development team
- Encourage best practice across all areas and functions of delivery within the IT Development team
- Conduct internal audits
- Toolset analysis and recommendation with a focus on testing tools
- Governance implementation and reporting
- Ensuring compliance with all regulations
- Liaise with IT Development Management, Developers, Testers on a daily basis
- Wider organisation engagements and business relationship management

Essential Skills:

- Significant experience of Quality Assurance Management in an IT Agile environment
- Experience of evaluating to ISO-9000 Quality Management
- Ability to implement process improvement initiatives across all areas of IT delivery
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance governance and reporting
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good working relationships with customers, IT managers, testers and developers.
- Experience of implementing process for the entire life cycle of an IT product in an agile environment
- Pro-active leadership qualities and drive to impart best practice across the IT Development team
- Ability to communicate effectively at all level

Desirable Skills:

- Strong knowledge of industry best practices in testing
- Knowledge of the complete SDLC with a focus on Agile Scrum
- Working knowledge of test management tools, automation test tools and performance test tools

EVALUATION CRITERIA

- Number of years experience as a Quality Assurance Manager delivering to ISO-9000 standards
- Demonstrable implementation of process improvement initiatives
- Agile IT experience
