QA Engineer

Are you an experienced QA Engineer seeking a new opportunity? An exciting contract has arisen to join the ILW Programme at Berkeley Centre.

The successful candidate will directly support Projects/Programmes in the development, implementation and review of management arrangements that ensure compliance with regulatory and Company requirements. In particular the individual will support our ILW Programme/projects in procuring Ductile Cast Iron Containers (DCICs) from existing and new suppliers worldwide. The individual should be a 'practitioner' and have robust QA delivery expertise, as well as audit and inspection capability that may be deployed within Magnox and across the supply chain.

KEY TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide advice and support to the current and future DCIC procurement projects. Work with the multidisciplinary team ensuring the programme delivers quality products with robust arrangements. Undertake activities to support effective Programme and Project implementation of management arrangements, including production of quality assurance documentation. Review suppliers' management arrangements for designing, substantiating, manufacturing and testing DCICs. Monitor compliance with standards, processes and procedures and take action as appropriate to achieve improvement. Provide technical expertise, advice, guidance and support in Quality Assurance and document management. Provide direct support in the Production of Project Quality Plans and assist with other Project Documents eg Project Execution Plan. Liaise with other departments to facilitate the planning of quality aspects of work programmes. Co-ordinate the implementation of the quality aspects of work programmes. Provide technical support for the implementation of the audit programme. Carry out reviews, audit and inspections of Projects'/Contractors' performance in Quality Assurance. Ensure that relevant quality standards are applied to the procurement process and for management of the supply chain

The QA Engineer must be an experienced quality practitioner and auditor preferably with a proven track record in leading audits against ISO 9001; IRCA registration is not essential. This would suit a candidate who has worked within a Projects Environment as QA Engineer. Experience of working within a nuclear environment would be ideal but is not essential. If you have a Certificate in Environmental Management/Safety/QA, are a Member of a relevant professional institute and are educated to NQF level 5/NVQ Level 5, I would be keen to hear from you.
