Python Developer/Linux Administrator

PYTHON DEVELOPER/LINUX ADMINISTRATOR

A Python Developer/Linux Administrator is urgently required for an ASAP start with a major client in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The Python Developer/Linux Administrator will have the following skills and experience -

- Strong Linux experience - in depth knowledge
- Demonstrable hands-on development experience with Python/Ruby (and experience of using Python to automate tasks)
- Experience of working with a large server-farm (at least 100 Servers) and knowledge of how to administer/configure/maintain/optimize services running in this server farm
- Knowledge of how to automate tasks on the machines running in the server-farm (particularly with python/ruby, but also puppet/chef/Ansible)
- Good understanding of loadbalancer/cache server/Firewall/TCP/IP
- Strong experience of working in an agile organisation as for example a lead engineer, team lead, technical manager or technical lead
- Strong problem solving skills and root cause analysis
- Comfortable with large scale production systems and technologies, for example load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management.
- Strong experience with Scripting (Python or BASH)
- OS knowledge (mainly RHEL)
- Able to read and understand multiple programming languages (eg JAVA, Scala)
- Experience creating monitoring dashboards
- Knowledge of testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
- Problem solving in a straight forward manner using open source software whenever possible
- Strong understand of open source software, fixing bugs and implementing features.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
