Python Developer - Contract - London - Up to £350 per day

Python developer required with Django Framework experience for advertising agency based in central London. This Python developer role will be part of the development team working on a number of projects using Python with the Django framework.

This is a privately owned and global business who have been established for the last 40 years.  Projects are continually coming in and my client is now looking for a technical lead to join their existing team.

Technical Management
- Experience of effectively mentoring and managing a multi-discipline dev team and working with them to ensure work is completed to spec and to the correct quality.
- Cool, pragmatic head under pressure with the ability to see the way forward when others are lost
- Ability to keep an eye on the detail even when 5 projects are jostling for your attention
- Strategic and solutions-focused attitude
- Flag any concerns that may hinder smooth project development/delivery with the Technical Manager

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for producing interactive applications that interface with a variety of inputs such as RFID readers, touchscreens, Arduinos, motion sensors etc usually over VLAN
- Responsible for costing, scoping, designing and planning software for any technology
- Report production status to the Ford Technical Manager on a regular basis
- Ensure coding and documentation standards are met and the deployment pipeline is used continuously through development and always on deployment
- Ensure release management processes are adhered to
- Work with and improve processes which help to ensure technical delivery, stability and maintainability within each project
- Work with project management staff to ensure they are informed of development progress
- Liaise with QA, feed testing status/results back into dev production
- Ensure all software is tested before release
- Provide on-site technical leadership, coordinating the installation of software with the hardware team and debugging problems to resolve
- Be able to delve into any coding language to fix issues and recompile software under pressure should the need ever arise.

Required Experience:
- Proven architecture and development skills in developing software systems ranging in scale
- Proven commercial experience and attitude to learning/managing different disciplines
- 5 years+ experience in the software industry
- Commercial experience with being a lead developer, leading other developers
- Exposure to multiple software delivery methodologies and the ability to drawn on all of them based on the requirements
- Demonstrable experience in an agency creative process and comfortable being an interface between Creative and Technical teams
- Commercial experience working in a high pace working environment and have learnt how to adapt quickly to change
- Experience with and an understanding of good design principles and ability to adhere to complex design specifications provided by a Technical Architect
- Commercial experience with TDD and Continuous Integration & Build Management systems

Technical Skill Set/Knowledge/Experience required
- Strong software background (hands-on) Python, HTML5/CSS, Javascript, AIR/AS3/Flex, C-based technologies - C++, C#
- Linux/Ubuntu administration
- Advanced knowledge of Design Patterns
- Advanced knowledge of OOP, MVC, SOA TCP/IP, UML
- Wire-framing/business analysis
- Unit testing/Test automation
- Continuous integration (ie Jenkins)
- Continuous deployment (Chef/Puppet)
- Shell Scripting
