Purchasing Engineer

PURCHASING ENGINEER - SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT, PURCHASING, NEGOTIATIONS, COST REDUCTION, PROCUREMENT, MICROSOFT OFFICE

A Purchasing Engineer with x is required to work on a five month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's team within the role of Purchasing Engineer. The ideal candidate will provide Procurement support to the Procurement Team, prepare for and attend internal meetings and Manage supplier performance to ensure on time delivery to a high standard of Quality.

OVERVIEW OF THE PURCHASING ENGINEER CONTRACT ROLE

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role.

The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;

To manage the supplier and contract activities alongside the Procurement team to include:

- Supplier Management
- Cash Flow Management
- Quality Management
- Relationship Management
- Negotiations and cost reduction
- Support the management of priorities based on customer and IBP needs
- Supplier reporting - schedule adherence, EAC against budget, risks and opportunities and mitigation

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE PURCHASING ENGINEER

- Microsoft Office
- Orderbook Management
- Supplier Management

The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds.
