RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform advanced analytical tasks, often of a confidential nature, in support of the Global Purchasing category management and/or site management.
- Manages suppliers by developing improvement plans related to Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, Management.
- This position supports purchasing teams in turn providing support to the customer.
- Responsible and accountable for the analysis and maintenance of purchasing and quality data including but not limited to; purchase orders, quotations, invoices, source catalogs, material rejection disposal reports, tooling records, supplier data and measurements.
- Implementation of local or regional sourcing strategy, under the direction of their Manager and experienced Buyers.
- Works effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels.
- No direct reports. Will demonstrate advanced project management skills required to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information as required.
- Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards within this diverse global organization.
- Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of Global Purchasing strategic initiatives.
- This role may support Buyers, Engineers, and/or Managers working with category teams and sites. Customer(s) will be fully informed of progress on assignments to ensure all requirements are met. Participate in and provide analysis related to projects to Product and Purchasing teams.
- Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies or services necessary for the operation of an establishment.
- Responsible for buying goods and services for use by their company or organization.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability and other relevant factors.
- Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts.
- Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.

SKILLS

5-7 years previous finance related experience required. Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, negotiation skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze financial reports, price proposals and other technical data. Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information. Ability to predict consumer buying patterns. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to purchasing. Knowledge of supply chain management. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university - or equivalent experience. Requires effective communications skills - both oral and written. Must exhibit strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style. Required to be able to prioritize work in a dynamic environment. Intermediate to advanced skill in use of computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, purchasing systems, and email systems is preferred. Preferred that the incumbent is familiar with basic procurement and quality principles, procedures, and techniques. Bachelor's degree in a financial discipline - preferred.
