Public Health Specialist

We are urgently seeking an interim Public Health Specialist to support a London Borough Joint Public Health Team across two Councils.

The interim will provide the lead on health protection for two Councils and support the Senior Public Health Consultant in providing public health knowledge and expertise in the areas of Children's Health, Maternity services, Oral Health, Community Safety and Health Impact Assessment and Health Equity Audit.

DUTIES

- To lead for both councils, the public health assurance of vaccination and screening services, infection control and environmental health to ensure that the needs of the population are being met by the NHS England and Public Health England
- Provide a lead role in the implementation of public health initiatives connected to children's health in the borough's Health and Wellbeing Strategy
- To be responsible for designated areas of health improvement programmes
- To contribute to the communication, dissemination and implementation and delivery of national, regional and local policies, developing inter-agency and interdisciplinary strategic plans and programmes
- To analyse and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data and research evidence from a range of sources to make recommendations and inform decision making which has long term impacts.

We are ideally looking for someone who can start in the next couple of weeks but will wait until the New Year for the right interim. This role is for an initial 6 months.
