ROLE

An opportunity exists for an experience Project Planner/Scheduler to join an established PMO, on an exciting and challenging project. Sitting within the energy sector, you will be responsible for supporting the entire programme of work, utilizing your strong organizational planning skills.

Undertaking the planning and scheduling of the programme of work and reporting all scheduling activities, this position offers the unique opportunity to work in a function that covers the whole scope of all projects including budgeting, resourcing and scheduling requirements.

We are looking for a suitable qualified and experienced professional planner/scheduler that can develop, establish and inculcate the processes and procedures required to achieve sound practices. The outcome will also include sustainable, sound reporting on a project basis as well as on a programme basis.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Project planning and scheduling of tasks/WBS/resources (including the establishment of baselines, progress and variances).
- Entering and maintaining project schedule information into the model, including the set-up and close-out of projects
- Managing the production of standardized status reports and metrics related to cost/schedule performance and assisting in the early identification and resolution of issues that could affect successful project delivery.
- Maintaining the overall contract schedule of works, focusing on any dips in productivity as well as identifying any optimization opportunities that may assist the project moving forward
- High level interpersonal, organization and communication skills, you will be well versed in reporting requirements (weekly, monthly) and working with the projects team on key deliverables.
- Ability to develop, evaluate and monitor project programs using industry procedures including Critical path, Precedence diagrams and PERT analyses
- Actively participate in scheduling meeting with operation partners to finalize priority of work orders, optimum downtime windows, and necessary lead times.
- Continuously improves the job estimate, planning and scheduling by receiving feedback from Project Managers and other relevant people involved in the project.

ESSENTIAL

- 6 + years experience in a similar role(s)
- Previous technical and practical experience in any relevant discipline that has large, multi-faceted projects with large number of interdependencies and constraints (which could include ICT, Construction or Critical Shut-Down type projects)
- Understanding of Baselines and re-baselining processes in project control.
- Understanding and implementation of Change Management related to planning and project controls.
