PROPOSAL MANAGER needed for a long term contract opportunity with SAP AMERICA located in NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

The Proposal Manager works directly with sales teams, SAP executive management, prospects and customers to support the SAP sales pursuit process.

ORCHESTRATING RESOURCES

- Leads and drives the document generation for the sales pursuit; Leverages appropriate SAP resources; Develops strong internal relationships with the Virtual Account Team members.
- Keeps people on the VAT informed regarding needs, progress and timeframes.
- Encourages idea generation and creativity for each sales pursuit.
- Understands VAT team concerns and priorities, makes decisions to ensure optimal results.
- Seeks creative ways to anticipate and resolve constraints among the team, eg, resource skills, time frames, etc.

DEVELOPS PROPOSALS

- Collaborates with others to collect document content from VAT, assembles and "packages" content; Demonstrates content understanding to ensure comprehensive and differentiating response to the customer.
- Works with the VAT, the extended sales teams, partner and/or customer teams to create proposals that respond to customer needs.
- Participates in appropriate sales team meetings, including Partners and Customers.
- Leads the sales team to ensure delivery of effective selling documents. These materials include RFx responses, executive summaries, Point of Views, SAP solutions overviews, customer success stories, references, press and analyst information, etc.

BUSINESS WRITING

- Writes/edits cover letters, content and summaries for the sales teams and senior management, drafts text and layouts for customer proposals, presentations and other documents, presents alternatives for content presentation.
- Researches and composes compelling, persuasive sales messages, focused on solving the customer's business problems.
- Edits content, grammar and style to conform to SAP branding and voice.

CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

- Understands sourcing of content and draws upon the SAP network of experts for broader topics. The PM leverages the SAP infrastructure and ecosystem to ensure currency and completeness of work.
- Develops and sustains contacts and relationships with appropriate employees within SAP, and as appropriate, outside of SAP.
- Actively supports knowledge repositories through contributions of completed documents.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

- Communicates resource constraints and complexity to the VAT to ensure deadlines are met.
- As required, coaches VAT members in the completion of their assigned activities.
- Regularly communicates status of pursuits to all interested parties.
- Maintains accurate records of pursuits for purposes of reporting to the pursuit team as well as to Proposal Management leadership.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant, successful professional experience in proposal technical writing.
- Demonstrated ability to produce customer-facing material that is highly tailored and reflects current capture strategies.
- Ability to drive process and compliance with very little supervision.
- Ability to multi-task in a team environment, with competing priorities.
