PROPAGATION MODELLER

A ROLE EXISTS FOR A SCIENTIST/ENGINEER WITH EXPERIENCE OF PROPAGATION MODELLING PREFERABLY RELATED TO THE UNDERWATER ENVIRONMENT TO JOIN A DEVELOPMENT PROJECT BEING UNDERTAKEN FOR A MOD CUSTOMER. YOU WILL BE JOINING A TEAM OF HIGHLY TECHNICAL MULTI-DISCIPLINED AND ENTHUSIASTIC ENGINEERS CONTRIBUTING TO THE DEVELOPMENT AND INSTALLATION OF CALIBRATED AT-SEA SYSTEMS. YOU WILL WORK WITH AND REPORT TO THE PROJECT ACOUSTIC TEAM LEAD.

MUST HAVE:

- Experience of using acoustic or electromagnetic propagation models;
- Experience of underwater acoustics.
- Degree in engineering, a physics based pure science or allied subject;
- Demonstrable ability to use and configure propagation models;
- Drive and determination;
- A proactive and dynamic professional attitude to internal and external customers
- Excellent analytical skills and judgment;
- Pragmatic and reasonable;
- Good problem solving abilities;
- Ability to work under time and budgetary pressures;
- Open, honest and enthusiastic team member;

DESIRABLE

- Background in undertaking measurements in a maritime environment;
- Experience of at-sea testing and experimentation;
- Experience of MATLAB;
- Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques;
- Experience of calibrating acoustic system.
