Job Description (This job opportunity is a temporary assignment on-site at Novo Nordisk, fully managed by Kelly Services. This is not a regular, full-time employment directly with Novo Nordisk.)

Manages the delivery of a full range of editorial services, including medical editing, copy editing, proofreading, and fact verification of pharmaceutical marketing materials, internal and external presentations, and corporate communications, from initial Promotional Review Board (PRB) submission through final approval, including print proof or final production. Act as the primary recorder of reviewer comments on all pieces during PRB meeting reviews. Ensure comments are clear and concise from meeting and electronic reviews. The Editor is also responsible for communicating PRB meeting concerns and capture key data. Familiar with working in an electronic format and knowledgeable about maintaining and managing this system and inherent workflow in regards to references and pieces. Job Role • Medical editing • Ensures editorial accuracy of all reviewed materials • Revises copy as needed to conform to medical standards and to meet legal and regulatory requirements • Clarifies medical-, legal-, and regulatory-required verbiage, ensuring consistency across brands • Verifies accuracy of all presented facts with specific clinical literature sources when needed • Conducts clinical literature Web research as needed or consults Medical Information • Fact-checks claims when needed • Directs advertising agencies in annotating promotional items and references as needed • Directs agency partners on resolutions of Medical, Legal, and Regulatory comments • Provides final approval for all PRB submissions before production • Copy editing • Edits promotional, educational, and sales training materials in accordance with AMA style • Ensures accuracy of spelling, grammar, consistency, clarity of usage, and mathematic facts • Directs brand and advertising agencies on correct usage of style guide • Ensures current PRB submissions conform to previously approved materials • Captures changes affecting standardized verbiage across brands • Proofreading • Proofreads materials submitted for review • Reviews iterative draft submissions to ensure that the complete list of requested changes have been included • Proofs items prior to production to confirm changes required on previous draft(s) were made Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree required; 7 years related experience in the development or delivery of marketing or other promotional materials. • Knowledgeable of medical and marketing language, AMA style, and proofreading marks and symbols, and promotional phrasing. • Understands promotional approval process and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical marketing. • Strong computer, communication, and organization skills • Complete knowledge of AMA style guides, understanding of pharmaceutical promotional guidelines, FDA/DDMAC regulatory issues relevant to advertising and promotions, and basic knowledge of pre-press processes • Understanding of clinical, scientific, promotional and business implications of using precise verbiage • Excellent command of English grammar and good writing/communication skills • High degree of self-motivation, and ability to work independently and under tight deadlines on multiple items • Ability to interact cross-functionally (Marketing Operations, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Management)
