Project/Programme Accountant

Purpose of the role & key accountabilities/deliverables:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Prepare and analyse financial information and exercise financial control over expenditure (and assets)
- Record authorisations for investment and programme expenditure, and report on expenditure against plan
- Liaise with PMO to ensure programme information is timely and accurate
- Liaise with both Commercial and LTSBCF Finance department ensuring programme cost code/centre accounts are reconciled and payments (to suppliers) made correctly.
- Be responsible for change control on SAP
- Prepare other statutory and FDA required returns and keep records as necessary: to be guided and to liaise with both Commercial and CF Finance departments
- Other controls/reconciliations/reporting as necessitated

WHAT CORE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED TO DO THE ROLE?

- Gained or Studying towards accountancy qualification
- Accounts experience: Reporting/Reconciliation
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Financial modelling

WHAT CORE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE ARE DESIRABLE TO DO THE ROLE?

- Knowledge of Commercial and Commercial Finance (Invoice Discounting and Factoring)
- Wide experience of Banking
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to locations across the UK to engage with Commercial colleagues as required.
