Project Officer/Junior Project Manager - ICT - Federal Government

Our client is a high profile Federal Government Agency located in CANBERRA. The department is looking for an experienced PROJECT OFFICER/JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER to support various departmental ICT projects in administration, coordination, and reporting functions. This is an extremely rare one year contract position commencing in the new financial year with a rewarding hourly rate on offer and a possible extension of up to two years.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THE BELOW:

- Administrative support for various projects;
- Undertake project support activities including input into project planning and documentation; assistance with implementation resources; monitoring and reporting on progress of the project;
- Undertake procurement and contract management activities including financial administration and;
- Assist with secretariat support for the project committees, including preparation of agenda papers, minutes and other administrative tasks.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS/DEMONSTRATE:

- Experience working as a project manager/project support officer on ICT projects, or Engineering projects;
- Experience co-ordinating a program/project;
- Ability to conduct project status reporting/process documentation;
- Attention to detail and
- Be able to work under pressure in a team environment.

This is a highly regarded 12 MONTH CONTRACT position within an ACT Federal Government Department that for the right candidate is offering a competitive rate and the view for a 2x12 month extension. Previous government experience and Prince2 qualification is highly desired however not essential.
