Project Manager (Hands-on), Trading function/efficiency improvements, Front-to-back, Trade book rationalisation, Client Life Cycle Management.

Tier 1 Investment Banking client requires a Senior and hands-on Project Manager/Business Consultant/Business Manager for a number of projects which are completely focused on money making through sales and trading.

The 3 programmes of work are;

- Front-to-back (trade placement to general ledger)
- Client life cycle management
- Trading book rationalisation

These programmes are driven by (and paid for by) the Front Office and this is where you will be for all of your time in this role. As a Senior Project Manager (hands on Business Analyst Duties), you will work alongside traders, business managers and COO's. In terms of your previous projects, you will need to have Front Office exposure because you will need to have that business awareness of how they operate and why they operate in certain ways. The bank believes there are many business efficiencies that can be improved on eg Trader KPI's, Client money generation assessment etc. You will map out the existing processes and business functions at a granular level to help dig into these possible areas of improvements. Many of these suspected potential improvements have already been identified at a high level, but you will dig into the specifics as part of this discovery exercise.

Other efficiency searching relates to clients ie on-boarding, reporting, analytics etc. Also the book rationalisation of these. Through a re-organisation of structures, you will help measure the challenges. You will identify the parameters/questions prior to even opening the book - what are the requirements, how do we measure cost' of a client and therefore the ultimate money generation (even to the point where perhaps better to walk away from clients altogether.

In terms of softer skills, you'll need to be very much a business consultant, able to operate at all levels (including lower level). You will own elements of the larger programme and be expected to deliver. This is a fairly unique programme of work and therefore unlikely you will have worked on something identical recently, but there must be sizable elements of current and recent roles which relate to this role.

Whilst regulatory aspects will need to be considered here, this programme is aimed at improving bank money making, not simply pleasing regulators. This programme of work crosses all asses classes, so candidates who are specifically focussed on one asset class will be considered, but multi-asset class knowledge would be beneficial.

This is an excellent role for a long term contract which is not purely regulatory change. A real shift in focus. Investment Banking experience and Front Office experience is essential. Candidates who have management consultancy experience would be highly desirable.
