Project Manager - Stress Testing/RWA/Credit Risk

Working for a well-respected financial institution, this is an excellent opportunity to join an internal consulting team that delivers the change initiatives across the bank. This specific role will be focussed initially on scoping out and then delivering projects in a high profile industry affecting regulatory programme.

The role combines leadership with project management skills. The individual will need to understand the wider objectives of the specific project and have credibility in that field and be able to influence others. They must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior managers, the wider programme and portfolio teams, and any third-party service providers. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Project Board ensuring that the solutions delivered by the project are capable of achieving the benefits defined in the business case working within time, cost and quality constraints.

Responsibilities:

- The successful delivery of the full scope of the project including business change management, technology and operational processes.
- Planning and designing the project and proactively monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.
- Estimating, securing and managing the overall project budget and resource profile.
- Developing, presenting and monitoring the overall project plan within the defined governance.
- Preparing highlight reports

Requirements:

- Strong Project Manager with proven track record of E2E delivery of large scale projects
- Project management experience, with a record of successful delivery and management of budgets in excess of £0.5-£3m, within the Financial Services sector.
- Proven experience in project planning, cost, budget and bank risk and issue management.
- Experience of managing projects around Basel 3 implementation and/or stress testing.
- Good understanding of bank capital, RWA framework and impairment forecasting.
- Good understanding of risk data for credit and trading portfolios, across the different stages of the data life cycle, in particular engaging stakeholders on the definition of data requests
- Good understanding of data quality processes including logical and plausibility checks, and the tracking of issue resolution
- Experience of working with Agile development teams for the implementation of IT solutions
- Business change management experience gained from successfully managing the organisational, cultural and stakeholder challenges of a transformation project.
- Strong leadership, people management and team building capabilities, with experience of managing both internal and external specialists for teams the size of 50 plus people
- Proven ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships, and influence business decisions at senior management level.
- A recognised project or programme management qualification eg MSP, Prince 2, APMP, PMP or PMI.
- Experience of project portfolio management including governance, assurance, risk, resource and dependency management
