PROJECT MANAGER - SAVINGS - 6 MONTHS - HALIFAX

A top retail bank based in Halifax currently requires a Project Manager to join a Banking Transformation Programme for an initial 6 month period.

-

The long term savings and retirement market is underpinned by demographic shifts and clear areas of customer need, with current opportunities created by market disruption from existing and new regulation.

Programme will make step change improvements to Wealth and Investments customer proposition, reducing operational risk and expenditure to create a strong, scalable and agile foundation to support planned growth and investment over the next 5 years.

Existing capabilities do not fully support current and future customer or organisational requirements

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES

-

Feed into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business strategy; agreement of project benefits; and how these will be measured and tracked post implementation.

Works with the business area to ensure an effective approach to business implementation, handover, and acceptance of the change.
-

Works closely with the Programme Leads to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed standards and recommend options for contingency plans.

Define and implement a detailed delivery approach for each stage of the project life cycle, obtains acceptance and buy-in to the approach from all team members, and produces and owns all project management deliverables, using established project methodologies, to the right level of quality.

Produce and owns the project plan. Controls, manages and monitors project timescales and budgets, reporting variances, escalating as appropriate to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs, and re-forecasting where necessary.

Track resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities), budget and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.

Identify key project stakeholders and develops an appropriate stakeholder communication plan.

Engage with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence direction of projects to meet the project milestones.

KEY SKILLS

-

Experience of dealing with and leading Matrix managed teams
-

Experience of working within a large retail bank (or similar corporate) can ref management of wider organisational risks etc.

MS Project and complex budget leadership
-

Experience Of Launching Products And Services
