My client, a leading UK Retail Bank, are currently recruiting for an accomplished Project Manager to join a major Annuity programme in Bristol or Edinburgh.

PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAMME

The purpose of the Programme is to develop a capability for the bank to enter the Bulk Annuity market. This is being delivered in 3 stages; 2 initial Bulk Annuity transfers in Q1 and Q2 next year followed by Market entry in H2 2015.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The role involves managing the Finance Reporting Workstream, planning with the business (Finance, Actuarial, Asset Management, Risk and IT), working alongside the Programme Manager to develop the Business Case, secure funding for the external consultancies and contractors, developing and maintaining the project management deliverables (eg reports, plans, ARIAD logs) with a particular focus on liaising with the reporting and asset management teams.

CORE SKILLS

Strong understanding of Finance and Actuarial processes and systems is essential. The candidate must have demonstrable experience of delivering high value, complex change within a large Financial Services organisation, on time and to budget as the project manager will be expected to be able to manage a workstream with complex dependencies.

The project is delivering at a time of great change within regulatory reporting so excellent stakeholder management skills are required together with a pragmatic attitude and an effective means of engaging with senior management to prioritise work and deliver on time and to budget.

The candidate will need excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

DESIRED SKILLS

Finance or Actuarial qualifications would demonstrate depth of understanding which aids credibility with the technical reporting teams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Regular travel between Edinburgh, Bristol and London will be required.
