Project Manager - Red Tape Challenge

Project Manager - Public Sector - 8 months (Part time, 3 days per week) - Edinburgh

My public sector client requires an experienced Project Manager to work on a major public sector agricultural/rural programme. The position is a part time role with flexible working hours required. The candidate will need to have some high level experience in the agricultural industry and will ideally have excellent negotiating skills gained from experience in or with parliamentary/government bodies.

Description of Role:

*Produce report for the Cabinet Secretary for final publication in early August 2014 with detailed recommendation strategic and specific for reducing red tape and monetary efficiency within the agricultural sector
*Liaise with CEO and Chairman levels within organisations to ensure that the potential for divergent views are realised
*Represent client interests within DEFRA's Red Tape Challenge initiative
*Assist in promoting understanding of the report to a wider audience in weeks following launch of report

Essential Skills:

*High level negotiations with officials in client and clients agencies and external bodies
*Critical analysis
*Dealing with politicians
*Agricultural knowledge as well as knowledge of the wider rural sector interdependence, funding of government and sector approach and rural delivery.

Desirable skills:

*Report writing skills.

Candidates also require a Basic Disclosure Scotland taken in the last 12 months

Candidates also need to be able to work flexibly in this part time role
