Project Manager (Product Development)

Our Berkshire based client (North side of M4) is seeking to appoint a proven Project Manager with significant experience of supply chain, new product development and support of products to the market place. This role is with a well known FMCG/pharmaceuticals company so product development is in the context of what this company produces and sells.

Note, this post is NOT a systems/IT PM role and neither is it a business change/transformation Project Manager requirement, it is 'product development' focused.

The successful applicant will join an existing project management function and will be responsible for delivering projects within this function. This may include multiple project streams many of which are EMEA focused (occasional but no significant need for international/European travel).

Your core deliverables will include;

- Driving continuous (product development) process improvements through strong, cross discipline stakeholder/inter-team collaboration.
- Project definition and project planning.
- Team selection from within the business to help support and deliver projects.
- Improving and implementing strong project governance.
- Assessing project feasibility.
- Managing projects through stage gates.
- Identifying and managing key risk areas.

The successful applicant is highly likely to come from a pharmaceutical or FMCG background. You will need to be fully familiar with the processes within such companies of producing and supplying products to market and the industry terminology that goes with this. You will have at least 2 years demonstrable project management experience (but probably more) and supporting PM certifications eg PMP or Prince. You will be Degree qualified.

Focusing on new product development and rollout of products to market, you will cross work with other teams in the business including Marketing, Engineering, Operations, R&D, Regulatory, Finance, Planning and Sales. You will be a confident, positive and organised person who enjoys working closely with mid and senior management level staff.
