Project Manager - Procurement (S9)

Project Manager with extensive procurement experience required for an initial contract until Dec 2013 with an esteemed government department based in Western Sydney. You will be responsible for developing strategies, managing sourcing initiatives and establishing contracts that minimises risk and achieve the best value.

Skills and experience required:

- Establish and manage relationships with business owners to identify opportunities through procurement practices and to provide guidance and advice on procurement policy and processes.
-  Research and analyse internal and external factors
- Work with business owners to develop specifications for incorporation into sourcing documents and establish appropriate purchase to pay processes including catalogue solutions and SAP alignment
- Manage sourcing activities applicable to the procurement requirements of the Department including the development and release of tenders, supplier briefings and evaluation processes.
- Complete all project management tasks and follow the required governance processes throughout including the completion of required documentation, communicating with stakeholders and updating of the Program Database.
- Undertake contract negotiations and arrange execution and disclosure.
- Prepare and distribute contract guides for contract managers and provide support to ensure implementation of new contracts and supplier induction including procedures such as purchase to pay, reporting and support processes, catalogue development and stakeholder communications.
- Monitor and report on benefits realization throughout the contract life.
- Must have experience in the use of MS Project, MS Access and MS Excel and in generating reports using graphs, tables and commentary.
