Projektbeschreibung

The Senior Project Manager owns both the managerial and leadership dimensions of end-to-end delivery of one or more medium-to-large (12 months and $5MM) technology projects, typically with multiple work streams, and cross-functional/cross-business-unit.

The Senior Project Manager partners with the Project Owner and Technology Lead, but has primary accountability for project success, with direct responsibility for managing project planning, monitoring progress, tracking and resolving issues/risks/decisions, managing budget/scope/schedule, and ensuring compliance with all related governance and reporting processes.

Senior Project Managers partner with Technology Leads and Business Owners/Sponsors to ensure all relevant stakeholders are appropriately engaged, that appropriate communication is maintained, and that strong partnerships are developed and maintained to support stakeholder alignment and full transparency.

Work with project Business Owners and Technology Leads to initiate projects in accordance with ELS PMO processes; define clear scope, requirements, success criteria and benefits.

Work with Technology Leads and Operations Leads to ensure adequate engagement of all resources, ensuring all key roles are filled appropriately.

Create effective project and resource plans, ensuring costs and schedule are realistic and that risks/issues/decisions are identified, assessed and managed.

Ensure projects are managed and reported using approved and supported PMO tools and processes.
Work with Project Owner to drive out the Business Case, with particular attention to the cost/schedule components of the case.

- Consistently deliver projects to agreed success criteria, managing change effectively.
- Build, maintain and track detailed plans for all project activity, reflecting progress and changes to scope.
- Ensure that project budget forecasts and actuals recorded and reconciled with Finance teams, so that a single agreed view of costs is maintained.
- Ensure all formal project controls (risks, issues, changes, decisions, dependencies, etc.) are visible and managed appropriately
- Define and manage project resource requirements and schedule with resource managers and manage the assignment and release of all project resources during the project. Ensure that any external resources required by the project are acquired and managed effectively.
- Ensure team productivity is maximized, and feedback on individual performance provided to resource managers on request.
- Ensure projects are managed and reported using approved and supported PMO tools and processes.
- Partner with Business Owner and other team leads to ensure all project activities (IT and non-IT) are captured in an integrated plan.
- Partner with Business Owner to ensure transparency and recording of non-IT related spend on a monthly basis, to support visibility in full project spend.
- Partner with Technology Leads and Business Owners/Sponsors to ensure all relevant stakeholders are appropriately engaged, that appropriate communication is maintained, and that strong partnerships are developed and maintained to support stakeholder alignment and full transparency.
- Establish and maintain collaborative and collegial working relationships with team members and stakeholders, and encourage a similar style amongst team members.
- Support formal and informal PMO efforts to maintain and enhance project management and governance tools and processes areas.
- Maintain knowledge of current project management practices and techniques through membership of professional bodies, reading and informal networking.
- May also be called upon to coach/support more junior Project Managers in their projects, or to mentor on soft/hard PM skills.

RELEVANT BA/BS DEGREE
8 years' or more experience as Project Manager, at least 4 of which has been in a more Senior PM role, with end-to-end responsibility for projects 12 months in duration, $5MM budget, with multiple, complex work streams

Experience managing a variety of technology projects such as eProduct (eg commercial customer-facing web-based, cloud-based, electronic publishing), infrastructure, and/or business systems (HR, Finance)  

- Experience managing a variety of project management structures, eg Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, hybrid
- Thorough understanding of the project management process throughout the life cycle, and the ability to identify issues and take corrective action
- Proven track record of managing complex and senior stakeholder interactions
- Proven track record of leading projects that required extensive business change management
- Experience working with formal project methodologies (eg APM PRINCE 2, PMI/BOK) and associated accreditation (eg PMI PMP, IPMA Level C, PRINCE2 Practitioner)
- Experience of managing third-party suppliers.
- Proficient in creating and managing financial models
- Experience using common Project Management tools, especially MS Project, PPMC
- Proficient user of all MS Office tools
- Able to support up to 25% travel within US
