PROJECT MANAGER - PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
For one of our Telecom Clients in Norway are we looking for a Project Manager to act as Planning and Scheduling Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Be the Planning and Scheduling Manager to manage and support the program planning and scheduling activities of the nationwide rollout. This position would suit an experienced Project manager with experience from large organisations, large network build projects or large scale infrastructure rollout programs with a strong focus on highly professional project planning.
The role will require strong process, integration and communication skills. The position has the responsibilities for the following: Develop and maintain an integrated WBS, handling of change requests to the project plan, progress tracking and reporting, milestone analysis and critical path analysis
The individual must be knowledgeable and confident enough to question the information obtained from Project Managers and others and suggest alternatives and advise the implications of potential courses of action. The role is to be based in Oslo.
PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define and maintain planning and scheduling standards
- Support the work stream project managers to create detailed internal plans & schedules according to the planning and scheduling standards.
- Co-ordinate plans and help to identify and maintain work stream interdependencies.
- Ensure that the various schedules are regularly maintained with current progress and logic.
- Work within the planning team to provide progress reports.
- Liaise with internal and external suppliers to help co-ordinate the system production and roll-out.
- To assist the Project Managers with their check and balance of planning and progress.
- Customer point of contact with respect to Core planning issues
- Perform variance analysis
- Establish and provide metrics measurements
- Report and schedule risks/opportunities and suggest, in cooperation with the Risk Manager and Project Managers, mitigation/exploitation plans.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Significant Project Management and Planning experience
- Flexible and be able to work on your own initiative and be self motivating.
- A good working knowledge of MS Project is essential.
- Be able to question and monitor internal work stream processes and progress.
- To be able to communicate to all management levels.
- Customer facing experience.
- Fluent English speaking and writing. A Scandinavian language is an advantage but not essential.
- A good knowledge of Network Integration processes within telecoms or similar process orientated projects, ie Oil and Gas, Engineering, Petro-chemical, Construction, Military etc
- PM certification (PMI or Prince 2) is be an advantage
