PROJECT MANAGER - MOD/DEFENCE

This is a 4 month project based in Bristol with a maximum pay rate of £450/day.

Key experience required:

- Project Management qualifications - APMP, APMP(Q) and MOR would be highly desirable.
- Strong experience with MS Office and MS Project.
- Previous experience of Project Management in MOD is very highly desirable.
- Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experience of governance and risk control frameworks
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Strong leadership; people and communications skills
- Candidate should possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making individuals.

Successful candidates should have active SC Clearance.

The client has a large portfolio of projects and are seeking experienced Project Managers to work on a number of crucial projects to replace current Aircraft Refuellers (FAR), Aircraft Heating, Cooling and Dehumidification Eqt (FAGEM), Aircraf Gaseous Systems (FRAGS) and Aircrew Cold weather Clothing (CWC).

The project value is in excess of £20m +& value range and need to be progressed rapidly to avoid negative impact on operations.

The PM role is to manage the project(s) allocated by the AC PMO.

The key responsibilities are to:

- Draw up and implement project plans and strategies.
- Produce and agree a plan using MSP to implement the Project Brief and deliver the benefits.
- Review EPM Schedules to ensure that that they are robust and realistic and provide early notification of resources.
- Support SME's in delivery of the plan.
- Effective management of performance, risk/issues and Benefits within the project.
- Establish and implement a system to manage progress and measure benefits within the Project.
- Regularly review risks with stakeholders and develop appropriate mitigation actions.
- Maintain risk log within the Predict Risk Management Too, escalating where they can not be managed with the Project.
- Provide regular project reports in support of the ACT Governance Process
- Provide support to the Hd AC PMO and the wider AC Team:
- Participate in Project Delivery Assurance Reviews, with other members of the PPM function
- Assist Head PPM in Management of interdependencies with other Projects.
- Support, coach & mentor less experienced PM staff within the AC Team.
