JOB DESCRIPTION:
An opportunity has arisen to lead a Lancaster based MI team as an MI subject matter expert (SME) and Project Manager.
Premierline has targeted substantial, profitable growth in the next few years and is delivering Project Topaz to support the achievement of these objectives. Exploiting the data assets of the business for marketing campaigns and associated analysis, as well as ensuring MI availability for marketing, finance and operations is maintained during a period of systems change and customer migration to new products, is a key requirement.
Working within the business stakeholders, the Business Change Team and the Topaz programme the core focus of the role is to ensure the successful delivery of a tactical MI solution for November 2014. This project will fully compliment the delivery of MI for Underwriting and Pricing which is being sourced from the SME strategic systems platform ComET and the Corporate DWH. Managing a project team, to be formed from SME's within the Lancaster team and liaising with Lancaster based IT colleagues, the successful candidate will also be responsible for significant engagement with the business beneficiaries and key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be required to:
* Define, Plan and Manage delivery of a tactical MI project
Identify MI or technical skills gaps within the business and propose how the gap can be successfully addressed
* Ensure all deliverables are fit for purpose by employing effective quality management approaches
* Ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are adhered to
* Manage, lead and motivate the project team (which is split between the Lancaster, Guilford and India) on a day to day basis, injecting pace and momentum where required
* Manage sometimes conflicting priorities by maintaining close relationships with business stakeholders and using innovative ideas to maximise work throughput
* Report progress through agreed reporting mechanisms
* Undertake effective stakeholder management
* Liaise with related programme, business and project managers to ensure seamless delivery.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
§. MI service provision to business operational areas and marketing and associated projects
§ Microsoft SQL Database and SSRS skills and experience
§ MI related business analysis and data analysis experience
* Planning tools such as MS Project
* Test support tools such as Quality Centre
* Demonstrable successful delivery of multiple projects to cost, time and quality
* Proven experience of managing a team with conflicting priorities for work
* Experience within general insurance and knowledge of the key terms and concepts
* Experience in managing offshore development
* Strong stakeholder management experience
* Experience in leading and motivating a team of technical developers
* Competent in the use of project planning tools such as MS Project, Planview and test support tools such as HP Quality Centre.

KEY COMPETENCIES:
* Prince 2 or other project management qualification
* Quickly build good stakeholder relationships with new areas of the business
* Excellent written and verbal English
* Effective leadership and strong people management skills
* Customer centric, ability to communicate at all levels across the organisation
* Strong negotiating and influencing skills, confident to challenge when appropriate
* Commercially astute.
