Project Manager - Life Study Birth Component

The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £33,353 - £36,161 per annum, depending on skills and experience, inclusive of London Allowance.

We wish to recruit an experienced project manager to join the team responsible for delivering the newest UK Birth Cohort Study (BCS) called Life Study. This is a key appointment to provide project management for the Birth Component of this ground-breaking study which will follow the lives and health of more than 100,000 babies and their families from across the UK who will be followed up throughout childhood and into adulthood. The project is part of the Birth Cohort Facility Project, which receives funding from the Government's Large Facilities Capital Fund.

The post holder will have responsibility for the management all key aspects of the Birth Component project. The job holder is expected to support the Programme Manager, work stream leads and other key members of the study teams in the management and organisation of their work streams to ensure delivery of the key deliverables and milestones.

This post is funded for 2 years in the first instance.

The postholder must be a PRINCE2 practitioner or equivalent and be educated to degree level or equivalent. They must have experience of managing projects within a complex environment, preferably with knowledge and understanding of research and research governance.

Knowledge of a range of project management tools (eg PRINCE 2/Managing Successful Programmes) is essential. The postholder must be highly proficient with MS Project or other project management monitoring and reporting packages.
