Project Manager - Infrastructure

ROLE: PROJECT MANAGER (UNIX)
LOCATION: LUXEMBOURG
DURATION 1 YEAR (INITIAL 2 MONTHS OF PROBATION)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- The Project Manager is  responsible to drive technical projects using the Prince 2 based Project management methodology.
- These projects are related to IT infrastructure services specific to UNIX and Backup & Storage services.
- Projects are like, rollout of new storage systems, changing backup strategy, migration of UNIX operating systems etc. Some projects have development work like developing application for system monitoring, reporting, CMDB etc.
- The project manager is required to run the project using allocated time of architects and system administrators.
- The candidate must have experience in handling such projects or at least a good understanding of running such a portfolio.
- The role reports to the Program manger required reporting to overall project portfolio coordinator.
- The Project manager is required to mantain regular reports, status updates and coordination with customer for his/her respective projects.

Day to day activities of this role include,

= tactical tasks of ensuring projects run smoothly. 
= tracking of progress of his/her own project portfolio (8-10 projects at any given time) 
= SLA measurement and reporting internal to TCS and monthly to customer. 
= Manage and utilize the MS Project Server 2010 system to handle his/her portfolio 
= hand customer escalation related to project progress 
= track and highlight resource needs projects to his/her manager.
