SKILLS: Project Manager - Global Payments - Retail Banking- Edinburgh - 3 months - £396/day
OVERVIEW
To maintain NCA BOS platform safely whilst delivering strategic recommendations about the future of its processes/platform and maintain a roadmap for delivery of a future state that ultimately leads to NCA Decommissioning & Archiving. It therefore has 2 goals
- Continue to support NCA's ongoing management around Account Consolidation & Control to support BAU controls to maintain NCA safely and securely until NCA is fated.
- NCA fating initiation - Critical objective will be to outline scope & requirements of the proposed road map to remove the business dependencies on NCA for financial settlements & transaction processing in a controlled & safe manner
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Work closely with the Programme Manager to develop the Business Case and Roadmap for 2013 Fating.
- PM will tale on responsibility for all Governance activities and developing a view of the Risks inherent in the use of the system. Timely and accurate completion of own project deliverables, assessing and managing risks and identifying counter measures & issue resolution strategies.
- Develop and maintain effective working and influencing relationships with appropriate colleagues.
- Deliver project-related presentations to gain acceptance and support for forthcoming changes
- Produce high quality documentation for senior stakeholders, including, plans, proposals & papers to go to senior stakeholders
Experience of the following is required:
- NPA (non personal accounts)/Internal accounts/Balance Sheet and General Ledger - Payment processes and Reconciliations.
- In addition, experience of implementing solutions including movement/redirection of payment channels or files to new settlement systems would be useful.
- Manage the development of business system/process requirements taking part in peer and phase reviews ensuring full understanding of the business problems and opportunities.
- Ensure project activities (dev'NT, testing, packaging ideally experience with branch accounting or financial settlement.
- Strong Project Delivery skills with experience of Payments projects/IT heavy developments would be beneficial
- To stand out having a very good knowledge of: NPA source accounts; Head Office accounts; Control Sort Codes; Payment processes, General Ledger Written communication
Key skills:
- Planning, Written communication
- Strong background in financial systems/good knowledge of a'cing entries through working in Branch/Back Office Finance area.
- Experience of working with NCA or other heritage BoS systems would be advantageous
- Highly motivated self starter with persistence; Good people management and influencing skills.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Management of project risks and issues & ability to effectively engage with colleagues.
- Understanding of Project delivery & Group Change methodology to impact people change and coms strategy creation & execution
- Experience of contributing to detailed reports & other written material of a technical and/or complex nature.
- An understanding of company strategy, cross divisional environment/business objectives. Good people management & influencing skills.

- Highly literate and strong communication skills you liaise with IT & Business Stakeholders
