Project Manager for the Production Engineering Team - Oil&gas Stavange

Project Manager for the Production Engineering Team at our customer in Stavanger.
This position will be accountable for managing the replacement of the Hydro Gas Administration (HGA) system from PowerBuilder to Tieto Energy Components. HGA a bespoke application developed by Delphi (=Norwegian supplier) and used for gas dispatching and sales administration at the customer. It is used for contracts between buyers and sellers and delivery of gas and as such is seen as a very important application within the customers portfolio of applications.
The project team will consist of people from customer, Logica and Tieto and as such there is a requirement for a local PM who can work closely with the project team and also the key project stakeholders all of whom will be located in Norway.
The successful candidate will also need to ensure that they comply with the formal PM methodology (PDF) of the customer and on-line training will be available to learn this as part of the role.
This is a great opportunity for someone to take up a high profile role at the customer and to become involved in a key growth area focused around Hydrocarbon Accounting.
The successful candidate will be primarily based in Stavanger, in the customers office. The support functions within customer for the activities are located both in Stavanger and in Aberdeen
Key skills are experience in Project Management, communication and collaboration. The incumbent should be well organised and have good interpersonal and networking skills and very proactive. The incumbent will have a sound understanding of IT and have a track record of successfully leading small to medium sized projects (expected size of this project will be in the region of $1M).
The ability to work and manage a team consisting of internal staff as well as 3rd party staff is critical as the vendor staff will play a large part in this project and therefore the ability to co-ordinate their tasks and to ensure the plan is effectively managed is essential. A committed Team Player with clear customer focus. Being able to work independently with minimum supervision.
HGA will be replaced by Tieto EC; experience with (managing) EC projects is highly desired.
