Project Manager - Finance IT

Our client is one of the world's most prestigious investment banks and this position sits within their Financial Markets Finance IT team.

This group are responsible for the definition and delivery of Finance & Regulatory Reporting systems across 4 hubs: HK, London, Paris and NY. The regional team are engaged in the development of Strategic P&L systems, Reconciliation tools,General Ledger accounting rules engines and Regulatory reporting systems for the Product Control, Financial Control, Global Capitalensure the core components are implemented and configured to meet business requirements in Hong Kong and AP Region.
- Participate in the regular project meetings and follows up with other team members as required to focus on business or technical issues. Document, resolve and escalate project issues to ensure clearance with minimal impact to project progress.

- Work with business analysts to liaise with relevant parties to provide business requirements, facilitate communication and technical issues resolution regarding core system components and upstream/downstream interface enhancements. Understand the system data flows from Front to Back.

REQUIREMENTS

- Disciplined approach to project management with a software engineering or computer science background (with computer studies degree level or equivalent).
- At least 5 years solid project management experience in Banking or Finance environment; 
- Project Management Institution (PMI) certification or equivalent and experienced with Risk Based Project Management is preferable.
- Good knowledge of vanilla & derivative financial products across interest rate, FX, credit and equity businesses
- Experience working within large/strategic/global programmes with global engagement 
- Experience in prototyping or rapid application development or iterative development 
- Have understanding of Finance and Regulatory processes and workflow within Banking business
- Highly developed reasoning and analytical skills
