Job Title: PROJECT MANAGER - ENGINEERING
A well-reputed company renowned for the delivery of medical device solutions within key therapeutic areas, my client is looking for an Engineering Project Manager to join the dynamic New Product Development division based in their Innovation Centre in Cork, Ireland. This role is a 12 month contract position, with the opportunity to lead strategic engineering projects involving the development and introduction of new, innovative products while working with a cross-functional team.
About The Job
As an Engineering Project Manager, your main responsibilities will lie within managing technical elements of a cross-functional team of key people from the Global R&D, Engineering and Operation's departments. You will also be involved in implementing design for manufacturability in new product designs, and be an integral force in driving engineering efficiencies and minimizing waste and life cycle costs through the application of various tools such as lean management, product design reviews, PFMEA studies and risk assessments.
The Ideal Candidate
Key competencies that you ideally possess as an Engineering Project Manager are leadership skills, a focus on customer needs and continuous improvement, as well as the ability to collaborate and influence your team. Effective communication, responsiveness and organization are paramount within this role, as well as being able to take initiative and be responsive and flexible to any changes.
Requirements
Minimum:
*A degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience in the healthcare environment.
*Project Management Professional with experience managing project elements
*3D parametric solid modelling and drafting experience.
*An advanced knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M 1994 Standard
*Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes
Ideal:
*Six Sigma Certification
*Fixture design and CNC programming
