Project Manager - Electronic Dealing Systems

DESCRIPTION:

A leading Fund Management firm in Edinburgh is currently looking for a project manager to join their team on an initial 6 month contract basis with the likely possibility of an extension. This role requires a combination of project management skills and knowledge of the business, as well as strong leadership, achievement orientation, adaptability and communication skills. Specifically the role holder will manage a workstream in the electronic dealing space.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure that projects benefit from a formal approach to planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
- Manage stakeholder relationships carefully, ensuing that the project communicates its purpose, progress, status and issues and risks regularly
- Prepare multiple formal documents, in line with the agreed project management standards/methodology.
- Be the go to person, when any question about a specific project emerges.

CORE SKILLS:

- Effectively applies consultation skills to solve problems independently
- Ability to articulate information in a manner that is clear and easily understood.
- Oversees the development of solutions to a variety of business issues and ensures the solutions are consistent with organisational objectives.

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

- Knowledge of electronic dealing systems such as Babel, EMX, NSCC is essential
- Educated to degree level, and holds an appropriate professional qualification in Prince 2 (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to understand business processes and issues, translating this into project success.
- Experience identifying, writing, and prioritizing business requirements.
- Experience managing moderately complex projects desirable
- Project Management Methodology (PMM)
- Project management techniques
- Project documentation
