Project Manager - Defence Estates

This is a job opportunity within Government (MoD) for a long term contract position. It is also an excellent networking opportunity to move into different projects around the site and develop your career/experience.

You aim in this job will be to manage property, infrastructure and related services to ensure the strategic management of the Defence Estate as a whole whilst optimising investment in order to support military capability to best effect.

The post holder is accountable and responsible for the delivery of infrastructure capital projects within functional area. The post provides SME input to the early development of programmes and projects and is responsible for the implementation of projects through the tender and construction processes.

IN THIS JOB KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

1. Responsible for the delivery of option studies, tender and construction documentation, managing risks in order to drive optimal delivery for MOD.

2. Responsible for the management of Contractors for assigned projects (including PSP and Framework Contractors).

3. Responsible for engaging with Users, ODC, IPs and other DIO functional areas in order to contribute to the effective development of assigned projects.

4. Ensure compliance with all MOD and statutory regulations and DIO processes with appropriate governance and management controls.

5. Provide SME construction, estate and project delivery advice and support.

6. Responsible for accurate financial management and reporting of delegated projects iaw policy including supporting the scrutiny process and the development of project business cases.

7. Responsible for project and performance reporting(via TRIRIGA) and risk mitigation activities for assigned areas of responsibility.

8. Deputise for the Prin Mngr Maj Proj as required.
