Project Manager/Data Center Migrations

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible leading technical projects, performing the detailed planning, and managing project execution and completion of a large infrastructure data center type project. Defines the phase deliverables, tracks milestones, schedules roles and resources, evaluates risks and recommends contingency plans. Responsible for managing the technical strategy of each stage of the project. Assigns resources and tasks, and manages quality assurance, resolution of issues, status reviews and reporting, development of standards, change control, customer support, and compliance with all policies and procedures. Will lead a group of technical resources and other IT technical staff to plan and accomplish goals.

Requirements include:

. PMP/PMI certified or equivalent
. Managed large projects

* Data Center migration or Application management experience
. Experience with large companies - Fortune 500/1000 companies
. Application/Workload centric approach to data center migrations
. Project Manager must have managed a larger program (or have been a part of) coordination with multiple organizations to plan and manage the moves
. Strong communications skills and ability to think on his/her feet

* Consultative approach - Someone who is willing to make recommendations

Additional information:

. Senior Project Manager for data center migration/relocation.
. 10+ total years of project management experience.
. Management of technical teams, scheduling and resource allocation.
. Capture business context information (ie, SLA's, business outage tolerances, etc.)
. Identify non-relocation business events and schedules that may affect the migration timelines
. Identify migration windows and outage requirements that can be communicated to the business
. Define migration dependencies
. Develop recommended migration method for each migration group along with alternative options
. Define contingencies for migration groups and migration events
. Prepare migration timeline that captures major milestones.
. Incorporate migration groups and schedule into a Migration Strategy Report
. Develop/Maintain a Migration Project Plan that describes milestones, major task items, and durations for subsequent detailed planning and execution phases
. Provide input to PMO on general communications and change management to Stakeholder
. Adept at issue/action/risk management and documentation.
. Knowledgeable of all project documentation and deliverables including schedules, issue, action and risk logs, test plans, executive presentations and associated documents required for consolidation/migration/relocation projects.
. Knowledge of IT Operational Process, eg Change Management, Release Management
. Familiar with migration methodologies.

* Proven ability to manage large scale, high visibility projects.
