For our customer a major international TETRA equipment vendor Sirius Telecom are looking for a Project Manager Core Network Coordination - TETRA Project Norway

JOB DESCRIPTION

Join the Project Management Team as a central resource to manage and coordinate the use of core system elements during the nationwide roll-out of the Norwegian public safety network. The role reports to the Director Program Management but interfaces heavily with the Project Planners (PMO), System Engineering, Network roll-out team and Operations.

The role will be focused on internal system elements and therefore a good knowledge of Dimetra and Network integration projects is required plus it would be a distinct advantage but not essential to have experience of a large scale site roll-out program. The individual should also be knowledgeable and confident enough to question the requirements being requested and suggest alternatives.

The role is to be primarily based in Oslo, Norway but may require occasional travel within Europe to visit other vendor locations or subcontractor facilities, so a degree of flexibility is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Liaising with the work-stream project managers to coordinate and manage the various demands being placed on the core project infrastructure to maximise the availability and efficiency of the network elements for project roll-out activities such as:

o Commissioning Testing
o System testing and acceptance
o Integration of Radio sites and Control rooms
o Release Planning (Bugfixes, Upgrades, Migrations etc.)
o System expansions
o System Documentation
o Handover into operations
o Customer Specific training
o 3rd Party testing
o Together with the Core Planner create and maintain a central work plan for the system elements which can be referred to by the work stream managers and System engineering staff for co-ordination purposes.
o Resolve/remove conflicts between the various groups wanting to access elements of the system, flag issues and escalate to project management team
o Oversee Configuration Control, Data security, Data Integrity until handover to Operations
o Develop and coordinate access controls to the various system elements
o Create and maintain a transition plan, agreeing when to fully hand over a system component or task to Operations team.
o Maintain continuous dialog with engineering, work stream owners and operations to understand the potential consequences of quality issues and differences between old and new system elements.

KEY ATTRIBUTES

- Flexible and able to work on your own initiative and be self motivating.
- A good technical knowledge of TETRA based networks (preferably Dimetra)
- A good knowledge of Network roll-out within telecoms or similar industry
- To be able to communicate with project managers, engineers and to all management levels.
- Customer facing experience an advantage but not essential.
- Fluent English speaking and writing mandatory, Norwegian an advantage but not essential.

To be based in Oslo, Norway and travel infrequently to other facilities.
