Project Manager - Chester

£40000 per annum - Fixed Term Contract

KEY DUTIES:

* Clear understanding of risks/issues and their impact on project success, including the definition and execution of effective risk mitigation actions
* Managing scope products and deliverables to ensure they are delivered to agreed time, cost, quality, TCF and compliance objectives
* Defining resource requirements for each change item and/or project
* Identification and management of project dependencies and critical path
* Ability to plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using the appropriate tools
* Tracking of project milestones and deliverables, taking corrective action where required
* Provide change and/or project MI including, but not limited to, financial and status updates, as required internally for the business and/or the Client
* Adopt best practice approach in managing risks and issues, change control and quality in line with business requirements
* Verification that the delivery of new capability is compatible with the realisation of benefits
* Taking the lead on transition management, ensuring that business as usual is maintained during the transition and changes are effectively integrated into the business
* Development and implementation of appropriate measurements and methodologies for managing change performance, to ensure delivery of agreed change standards, including time/quality/cost
* Ensuring appropriate escalation and communication (upwards and downwards) of issues to maximise performance.
* Instil a culture of continuous improvement and learning by identifying learning needs, helping to provide opportunities to address these needs and encouraging staff to take responsibility for their own learning
* Co-ordination of Capita input to Client requirements definition, solution design, testing and User Acceptance Testing, including leading and co-ordinating workshops within the business
* Ensure that all procedures and processes are fully documented and adhered to, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements to build and maintain an excellent reputation for the Company
* Maintain accurate and complete records relating to training, performance and competence for any direct reports (including individual T&C and HR files)
* To assist Operations in continued business development by pro-actively identifying future business opportunities with client through building strong client relationships

SKILLS REQUIRED
* Experience of structured approaches to project and programme delivery using Prince 2 or MSP methodology
* Experience of Change Management and Change Governance within a PMO/PSO style environment
* Proven record of successful delivery of small and medium scale projects
* Proven record of risk and issue identification and management
* Knowledge of relevant management and business change techniques such as lean, six sigma, business process modelling & re-engineering
* Well developed and effective communication and negotiation skills
* Able to analyse data, problem solve and make decisions confidently
* Customer focused when dealing with a range of people
* Be highly organised and able to manage own workload to meet stretching targets and strict deadlines
* Able to work effectively as part of a management team
* Excellent time management
* Effective meetings skills
* Proven ability to plan and control, while managing changing priorities
* Numeracy and advanced computer literacy (eg Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
* A good degree required or equivalent experience
