PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The overall operating vision for Defence communications is to deliver strategic and measurable communications that are audience-focused, direct and digital first'. To achieve this, the Defence Communications Change Programme (DCCP) which incorporates a series of change projects, has been scoped under the direction of the Directorate of Defence Communications (DDC) and has achieved positive commitment from the ten principal Defence organisations affected.

DDC requires an experienced Project Manager to assist in driving forward the DCCP across Defence with Phase 1 and 2 of the programme being completed by April 2016.

The post holder will:

- Drive forward the DCCP, reporting to the Head of Business Change to ensure successful delivery of the programme outputs and capabilities;
- Implement the programme governance framework;
- Provide briefing to DDC leads in DCCP projects and Business Change Managers at Defence organisations;
- Commission and co-ordinate DCCP projects, ensuring their coherence and integrity
- Refine and implement DCCP Blueprint;
- Maintain and sustain on-going collaboration across Defence organisations on DCCP projects through effective communication with Business Change Managers and other stakeholders;
- Work with other DDC Project Managers to manage the programme's budget and resources;
- Work with DDC Secretariat and Insight
- Initiate additional activities to mitigate issues and risks arising;
- Report progress of DCCP at regular intervals.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in delivering change and transformation projects and associated benefits to an agreed timeline, budget and quality. He/she must have a clear understanding of how to exert influence, set direction and deliver results across organisational boundaries, motivating people to commit to change and subsequently deliver on these commitments, while acknowledging competing pressures to deliver business-as-usual tasks.
- He/she will have the ability to overcome resistance when leading change and to work flexibly and creatively with staff at all levels, sometimes under pressure.
