Contract Term
This position closes at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21st, 2012.
This is a 9 month contract opportunity.Overview
Our Client requires a Project Manager to work with all related project management functions revolving around assigned Plant Information Management Systems (PIMS) projects.
Role and Responsibilities
The list of project management functions required for each project, are at a minimum:
- Creation and maintaining of a Project Organization Chart
- Assure completion of a Technical Solution Diagram and Solution Narrative
- Assure a Requirements Grid/Diagrams are complete and approved by all Stakeholders
- Creation and Stakeholder approval of a Project Statement which will serve as the project baseline for scope, costs, and schedule
- Creation and maintenance of a project schedule in Gantt and dependency diagram formats, in detailed and summarized formats
- Change Management (maintaining individual change orders and a summarized change log by project)
- Weekly Status Reports (summary of how the baseline is proceeding and highlights of actions, issues, risks, and changes in reporting period)
- Daily management of project team resources, including time keeping
- As assigned, assist with booking meetings, vendor management, writing business cases, writing
- decision summaries, procurement, proof of concepts, product evaluations, stakeholder presentations, technical testing, user testing, and user training.
The current list of projects includes:
- Tag Data Base/Registry
- Production KPIs
- Operational KPIs
- Field Maintenance, Asset Management, and Procurement Systems (IBM Maximo and E+H Fieldcare)
- Enterprise/Site Historians
- CEMS and LIMS Integration
- MARP System
- Production Engineering Reporting and Well Test Tool
- Production Revenue Accounting
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- It is key that the candidate be capable of managing multiple projects in a high energy, rapid pace environment
- Candidate must also have experience in managing multiple technical resources, staff, contractual, and third party vendor, to assure they remain focused daily and meet their assigned deliverables on time.
- University undergrad degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related area
- Proficient in using MS Office, MS Visio, and MS Project
- Proven experience managing 3 to 5 projects concurrently
- Minimum of 10 years of experience doing project management in the oil industry; with strong preference to SAGD experience
- Candidates will be requested to bring in samples of previous project management artifacts, documents, or templates they have used.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience with the PIMS projects listed at the end of this job posting.
- Proven experience in managing projects for the implementation of oil industry/PIMS software packages and projects/solutions with custom interfaces between applications.
Personality Traits:

- Ability to prioritize work on a daily basis in order to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience in requirements gathering process
- Awareness of programming and development skills, including design, architecture, implementation, optimization, testing, and training
- Creative, innovative, and "out of the box" type thinker

- Ability to write up succinct, brief decision summaries for solution/service recommendations
- Strong reporting and technical writing skills. Must be able to write in compact and succinct style.
- Strong communication skills at various levels of a company
- Has a continuous improvement mentality and approach to work.
