Project Manager

CLIENT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IS LOOKING FOR A SEASONED, RESULT-DRIVEN, AND TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER FOR A MAJOR PROGRAM. THIS POSITION WILL BE BASED IN PLEASANTON, CA, ALTHOUGH REMOTE WORKING ARRANGEMENT MAY BE POSSIBLE FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES.

The project manager will be a key member of a national claims program, consisting of multiple releases and deployments. The focus of this position will be in the testing and quality assurance area, covering systems functional testing, performance testing, and supporting of business user acceptance testing. The duration of this position will be 6 months, with a possible extension of another year.

Responsibilities:
1. Manage testing related project plans - including updating progress of existing tasks, expending high-level tasks into detailed plans through discussions with SMEs, and modifying plan as necessary to address issues or risks.
2. Serve as the single point of escalation for the functional and performance testing teams on environment, data, and configuration issues in both claims core systems as well as up/down stream systems. Drive issues to closure in a timely manner.
3. Identify risks that affect testing related milestones, and facilitate mitigation steps as necessary.
4. Communicate and/or escalate critical issues or risks to the program leadership.
5. Coordinate deliverables required for test execution, including end-to-end testing environments, data, and configuration.
6. Report status of testing related tracks.

Basic Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
2. 3+ years of technical IT project management experience in a complex, matrixed setting with cross-functional teams.
3. 5+ years of enterprise application integration and/or software development experiences.
4. 8+ years of overall IT experience.
5. Expert-level proficiency in MS Office and MS Project is a must.
6. Deep experience and understanding of enterprise systems project life cycle.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to synthesis complicates technical, business, or process issues, and present in an easy-to-understand fashion.
8. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
9. Solid facilitation and negotiation skills to foster agreement and resolve conflicts.
10. Ability to deliver results, while fostering positive relationships with other program participants, promoting a high morale on the program, and building stakeholders' confidence in the testing tracks on the program.
11. A self-starter and quick learner.
12. PMP or PMI-ACP certification.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in Agile, traditional waterfall, and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
2. Knowledge in Healthcare insurance claims and EDI.
3. Experience in software QA tools, such as QTP, Quality Center, LoadRunner, iTKO.
4. Understanding of software QA processes and principles.
5. Experiences in SOA and/or message queue technologies.

Travel Requirement: Minimal (10% or less) if based in Pleasanton, CA.
