The Senior Project Manager in the client National Facilities Services (NFS) Business Information Office (BIO), is responsible for the successful delivery of capital construction and IT infrastructure refresh projects through disciplined client-IT project management processes and close collaboration with business partners, team members and various IT functions. The NFS BIO partners with clients National Facilities Service (NFS) to ensure that space, power and cooling are sufficient to meet the upgraded network and telephony needs in our medical and administrative buildings. The Senior Project Manager will assume end-to-end project accountability to ensure delivery of IT solutions and services that provide the highest value in support of capital construction and IT infrastructure refresh projects.

The Senior Project Manager will be required to understand the program and processes of client-IT and adhere to these processes within the established organizational framework. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for meeting financial and schedule commitments and must communicate effectively with team members, management, NFS Project Managers and regional business partners.

This position requires an individual who can work with minimal oversight to identify required resources, define roles and responsibilities and arrange for the assignment of key project participants. Duties include project planning, project execution and control, resource supply/demand management, communication, risk analysis, quality assurance, team and vendor management and project implementation. Proven expertise in project planning methodology and in leading a Matrix managed team through a capital construction project life cycle is a must. Client relationship building skills are essential as well as the ability to manage complex, medium to large-scale project schedules with multiple inter-dependencies. Expertise in managing budgets, work plans and schedules, deliverables and responsibility matrices is critical. PMP certification is desired.

Responsibilities:

- Provide project leadership to motivate project team members, set achievable objectives, maintain a positive outlook, take responsibility, make decisions and provide constructive feedback
- Create, track and monitor project plans using MS Project to ensure the project is on schedule and budget
- Ensure project data is accurate and available for review by management and ensure that management is proactively informed of potential problems and risks so that they can be mitigated/resolved

- Use negotiation skills to achieve successful project outcomes around issues, scope, schedule, costs/budget and resources
- Manage the project/budget process
- Matrix manage project managers and teams from other client-IT groups who supply resources and services to the project
- consistently support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility client by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and license requirements (if applicable), and client policies and procedures.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Management Information Systems or equivalent experience is preferred for this position. At least eight years of project management experience, including a strong understanding of IT infrastructure (WAN, LAN, VoIP and WLAN) projects is required. Candidates should have at least five years progressive experience as a project manager that includes managing implementations of medium to large moderately complex to highly complex projects. The candidate must possess a strong customer focus and excellent verbal and written communication skills; a broad understanding of IT infrastructure and technology; the ability to monitor and manage vendor performance; and a general understanding of the health care industry.

The home base for this position is Orange County, CA but work assignments could be located throughout Southern California. Travel to the local facilities is required to ensure consistent and synchronized project deployment with local resources. This will also allow for close collaboration with local & regional leadership for current and future IT infrastructure deployment planning.
