Project Manager

SUMMARY:
Responsible for all centrally managed projects and programs. Central PM Positions are responsible for 500 - 600 million worth of project and program work in a year. $500k to 1mil in individual value. 60% of capital spent, goes through PM organization. Discreet individual projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage multiple projects/programs.
- Handful of projects (500k - 1.5 mil - spending in 12 to 24 month period)
- Typical electric distribution utility work
- Installation of new feeders, substations, outdoor construction work
- Installation of poles, wire, equipment of substations
- Creation of bid packages for projects and programs for work to be done
- Scope, schedule, costs, risks, report on financial risks, forecasts, what's actually spent, what's remaining, and where the rest is being allocated
- More time on current calendar year, less on future calendar years

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS

- May require a bachelor's degree and 4-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Utility background helpful, but not necessary
- Not an IT PM position
- No six sigma necessary, doesn't require a specific degree, candidate's capabilities are more important
