Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Project Manager with experience in ordering and tracking material deliveries for industrial projects
- The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the project management and controls teams and have responsibility for the management of materials on a number of capital projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Cost Control and project accounting
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of project schedules
- Facilitation of meetings
- Able to prioritize workload
- Procurement processes and strategy
- Ordering of materials
- Tracking delivery dates
- Keep procurement tracker updated showing full list of materials ordered and to be ordered
- Track receipt of material deliveries
- Provide monthly forecasts of expected material costs
- Provide monthly data for accruals
- Communicate procurement delays or early receipt of materials
- Provide data to ensure project schedules reflect accurate progress
- Manage budget assigned for procurement of materials
- Expedite material quotes
- Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders
- Track commitments
- Track cost transfers between projects
- Attend site meetings when required to provide material delivery updates
- Represent Owner's Interests
- Establish Project Objectives and Strategy
- Commercially Manage and Control the Project Program and Owner's Requirements
- Constantly Manage Project Risks and Minimize Owner's Exposure

SKILLS:

EDUCATION:

- BA/BS in Project Management, Construction Management or related Engineering Field or equivalent industry experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

- Heavy industry, infrastructure and energy sectors
- 5 - 7 years project management experience
- Thoroughly understands and utilizes Information Technology in the performance of their work including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Background in construction project management or assisting the PM
- Experience with cost and budget controls and an understanding of the life cycle of a project facilitate procurement of materials, making sure materials are delivered onsite on time.
- Needs experience ordering and tracking materials for construction projects.
