Project Manager

Project Management Responsibilities

Manage application development project-related management duties including the development of work break down structures and subsequent schedules, identifying and mitigating issues, risks and defects, managing the change control process, status reports, work plans, timesheets, resource management, budgeting and scheduling, reviewing client deliverables, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring the on-time release of project deliverables and full life cycle project planning.

Utilize MS Project to develop and maintain detailed project schedules and estimates

Produce process deliverables and artifacts following established department standards.

Quality Control Responsibilities
Quality Management takes into account applicable Federal, State and local regulations, standards and guidelines, as well as policies and standards.

•Perform Quality reviews for various projects at the end of each project phase per the schedule for ensuring project artifacts comply with standard processes, templates and guidelines.
•Deliver appropriate information to company senior management to keep them informed.
•Communicate effectively with clients and all levels of management, peers, organizations, and FMS.

Required Skills
•Knowledge of the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
•Understanding of project management quality assurance and quality control techniques.
•Personal experience applying project management best practices to delivery of IT projects, including use of Microsoft Project.
•Experience applying both traditional waterfall system delivery methodologies and iterative methodologies for application development (not infrastructure).
•Ability to facilitate small to large sized groups.
•Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills appropriate to all levels of the organization.
•Superior writing skills for process documentation and internal communication.
•Able to use Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
•Strong project leadership skills.
•Strong collaborative and teamwork skills.
•Ability to communicate with technical personnel and senior management on complex technical topics.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and related experience which will include three to five years of experience managing application development projects.

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) preferred.
