As the successful candidate you will have Project Management experience, preferably working with EPM 2010 and holds qualification in APMP or PRINCE2.  You will have previous experience of managing Project Risk - preferably using ARM and a proven record of successfully fulfilling PM role in defence or similar environment

Your main duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

- Management and delivery of plans to ensure all necessary preparation and execution tasks and dependencies are included.
- Ongoing management of those plans to achieve the delivery goals
- Work with key stakeholders to manage the deployment of all aspects of the project assigned To Identify and mitigate potential risks for delivery of products Operate as a full member of the team
- Supporting the Programme Director and other team members as directed
- Project Manage all aspects of specific work packages.
- Working with stakeholders to ensure Design Delivery, Technical Build; testing;
- MI requirements etc are managed and delivered to date and time Completion of detailed plan for the medium term including MSP; Resources; costs
- Completion of the detailed design phase to time and quality
- Working with the Design team to secure stakeholder sign-off at all stages.
- Development of stakeholder relationship with suppliers; including preparation of joint plans; proposals and any design and build documentation.
- Completion of the high level plan through to Go Live and BAU handover.
- Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders
- Experience of governance and risk control frameworks
- Good planning and organisational skills Strong leadership; people and communications skills
- Possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making.
- Business Case development; Risk Register developmentattend meetings, take minutes.

The Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Team is a DE&S Team within the Combat Air cluster delivering a combination of EP and UOR UAS programmes. The Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) Team has responsibility for the acquisition of the FCAS Programme plus a number of Technology Demonstrator Projects (TDPs) including Taranis. Reporting to the FCAS UK/FR Programme Manager, this post is responsible for developing designated elements of the project management plans, schedules, cost estimating and control and reporting mechanisms for the project together with undertaking risk analysis to develop three point estimates and supporting evidence for future Approvals.

Key responsibilities:
Support development of designated strategies and plans and the project schedule (inc weekly tracking/updates via project team meetings).
Also responsible for future phase planning and scheduling (inc designated elements of the TLMP) Undertake all elements of FCAS project risk management and analysis (inc FCAS Risk WG) Support management of DE&S input to Business Case assurance and approvals for IG, MG and other project approvals The UAS Team has a combined civilian and military staff of over 100.
The FCAS section is led by a B2 Programme Manager and comprises five C1 posts and two C2 posts together with technical support from the Combat Air Science Gateway.
In addition the team draws upon support from the Requirements, ILS, Engineering, Commercial, and Finance teams. The team is also regularly supported by Dstl and DESG Graduate personnel.
In addition to the civil servant Core competences, it is essential that the applicant is proficient in the functional project management competences and can demonstrate a proven record of successfully fulfilling the PM role in a defence or similar environment.
It is desirable to hold APMP or PRINCE2 and is confident in using MSP and other Project and Risk Management tools.
