Projektbeschreibung

Seeking a 10 year experienced, PMP certified Project Manager to execute the upgrade and migration of IBM mainframes to a distributed environment over a period of 18 months or more. Successful candidates will be accomplished project managers who have directed and successfully managed, from start to finish, complex, technology projects with aggressive timelines. Knowledge and experience in full Systems Development Life Cycle and Testing Methodologies is required.

Specific responsibilities include:

1. Defines and prioritizes project requirements. Develops time and cost estimates, project plans, and budgets. Oversees and controls ongoing costs, schedules, resources, scope, and risks. Negotiates and persuades decision makers regarding necessary action steps to achieve the goals and objectives of the project.

2. Gathers and documents business and technical requirements.

3. Analyzes business processes, conducts interviews, and confers with management to document procedures and determine program's functional requirements

4. Determines staffing requirements and forms project teams.

5. Chairs, manages, or facilitates project meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations. Ensures that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively. Manages conflict resolution within the framework of business and project/program objectives.

6. Develops, monitors, and coordinates project activities, such as scheduling, tracking, and reporting; assess the impact of planned changes and builds contingency plans to support the change efforts.

7. Overcomes obstacles and resistance to change through the use of complex strategies to promote project/program success, such as sharing resources to solve mutual problems across the organization.

8. Provides work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts.

9. Monitors project milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule. Identifies ways to resolve schedule issues. Keeps management aware of the situation. Develops strategy and ensures integration of project plans and overall execution.

10. Assesses variances from the project plan, gathers metrics, and develops and implements changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives.

11. Provides the team with constructive feedback as it pertains to project performance. Uses past experiences to identify potential areas of improvement.

Required Skills:

- Project Management Certification (PMP) or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum.
- Ten years of IT project management or equivalent team leadership experience in application development and implementation.
- Experience with projects of moderate to high complexity in multiple technologies and functions with all phases of Project Life Cycle. Project experience must include new development, infrastructure, process re-engineering, hardware evaluation, installation and configuration.
- Expert in Business Analysis, including facilitation, information gathering, diagramming, and documentation with working experience of the complete B/A toolset.
- Expert in MS Project, proficient in MS Office suite, and Visio
- Clear understanding of end-to-end application delivery in a multi-platform environment (Mainframe, Client Server, web).
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the full Systems Development Life Cycle and Testing Methodologies.
- Strong understanding of IT operational processes and familiarity with standards and trends in the industry relative to IT processes, such as ITIL and CMMi.
- Comfortable in interacting with staff and management, including Executive levels; effective verbal and written communications.
- High degree of skill in the development and execution of business and technical presentations.

Experience in:

Product and consulting services acquisition, specifically the RFP process.

- Acquisition and implementation of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software packages.
- Business requirements gathering.
- Business process documentation.
- Windows environments.
- Vendor management
- Mainframe systems; distributed systems

Preferred Skills:

- Advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
