Project Manager

SynergisIT, recognized by Staffing Industry Report as one of the fastest growing private IT staffing companies in the US, is seeking a Project Manager for a contract assignment for one of our clients in Atlanta, GA. Our client is seeking someone who is interested in a fun, exciting, and unique opportunity in project managing software & hardware development in a television production environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide consistent and reliable project management using an agile and/or iterative waterfall development methodology as appropriate by closely tracking budgets, tasks, resources, and schedules in accordance with the project plan.
Plan and manage monthly software releases with development leads using a requirements and defects tracking system.
Lead weekly sprint planning meetings along with engineering leads to ensure that business requests and production issues are handled in a timely manner.
Work with engineering staff to produce quality LOE estimates and timelines and produce a quality project plan. Hold development leads accountable for meeting their estimates.
Communicate status regularly through daily or weekly stand up meetings and escalate issues clearly and concisely in a timely manner.
Serve as the primary interface between the technical staff, graphics design staff, and business analysis team.
Produce weekly reports on the status of all active projects highlighting milestones and deadlines. Track development team hours for budgetary purposes.
Assist in writing business cases for capital projects

SKILLS:

Software and/or hardware engineering background and education
Familiarity with the television broadcast/media industries
Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Excel, and/or Smart Sheet - especially pivot tables
Knowledge of Innotas (or other time tracking software) and Jira (or other requirements and bug tracking tools) a plus
Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast paced environment
Results oriented professional
Keen understanding of IT functions, technology, and software development
Strong focus on results, creativity, initiative
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people and vice versa
Must have the ability to work on several active projects simultaneously
Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision, as required
Must have exceptional interpersonal teamwork skills
Must be pro-active in solving work-related problems
Must establish and maintain high standards
Must be able to remain calm and make rational decisions during critical situations
Must be self-motivated to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
Must be able to give and receive feedback openly and objectively
Must research problems before taking action
Must be able to express views in a diplomatic manner
Must act with the appropriate spirit and commitment to company, department and team goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years project management experience
Proven experience with working on multiple, concurrent engineering projects with diverse teams
Ability to manage multiple timelines
Strong software engineering project experience
Hardware engineering project experience a plus
Experience with agile and waterfall methodologies
Financial acumen
Demonstrated excellence in verbal & written communication skills
Experience working with both customer groups & IT resources
Experience with multimedia/broadcast business preferred
Experience with automated reporting tools and methodologies is a plus
