Project Manager

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Manage, plan and deliver the organisational, financial and operational aspects of a project.  Lead a team through all the stages of the life cycle to ensure effective implementation of the project deliverables and to the agreed business objectives.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Manage own project deliverables
- Manage work stream/project timescales and budget
- Support the assessment of risk, dependencies and cost over-runs. 
- Manage risks or escalate as appropriate
- Build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues in own business unit
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of assigned team members, contribute to their development and provide support and guidance as appropriate
- Develop knowledge of systems, processes and procedures to ensure all elements of the workstream/small project are delivered
- Contribute to the testing, analysis and design requirements and delivery of quality driven test solutions
- Support the research, analysis and information for decision making and provide guidance to sponsors, customers and team members
- Contribute to the project deliverables in accordance with the established processes, standards, practices and procedures of the Business Unit

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

- Minimum 5 years' experience managing projects
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Good presentational skills
- Good planning skills
- Understanding of current industry trends and willingness to learn
- English - written and spoken to high standard
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

DESIRABLE QUALITIES:

- Degree level or equivalent
- Qualified in PM methodology, eg PRINCE, PMP
- Knowledge of planning tools, eg Microsoft Project
- Experience in international environment
- Experience in transport/logistics/postal sector
