Fantastic opportunity for a PROJECT MANAGER to join a fast paced department to manage and deliver an IT programme in a large government organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Achieve industry standard operating efficiency of computer systems projects by adopting commercial principles and performance measures and reporting performance to management.
- Acquire, develop and maintain solutions and operational/administration process activities that satisfy business requirements.
- Identify business needs and manage the implementation of technologies.
- Manage and develop close working business relationships with internal and external industry stakeholders as well as business sponsors.
- Ensure that works are delivered to clients requirement and within agree pricing by project managing the delivery process.
- Identify potential risks and develop appropriate strategies.
- Identify options that will reduce costs which still deliver projects to specifications.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- PROVEN EXPERIENCE WITH A SUCCESSFUL WINDOWS 7 ROLL OUT IS MANDATORY.
- GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY REGARDED.
- Degree qualifications in an IT and Management or Engineering discipline.
- Ability to manage and deliver an IT programme of work.
- Proven experience in managing a works program involving numerous projects of varying scale, complexity and technologies and delivering results.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing business cases, project briefs, tenders and contracts.
- Vendor management including negotiating with suppliers and clients for the acquisition and provision of products and services.
- Quality and Risk Management of Projects.

You will also have STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS, both written and verbal.
